Art For The Shift 2025

The Shift is proud to once more launch its annual art exhibition, showcasing work generously donated by 21 of Malta’s very best artists. This year, we mark our eighth anniversary.
We are deeply grateful for this show of solidarity. Their contribution is a powerful statement of support for the free press, forming a unique bridge between creative self-expression and public service.
All prices are set by the artists themselves, who will receive 30% of the proceeds. The remainder will directly fund The Shift’s reporting on corruption and our ongoing advocacy for press freedom.
If you would like to purchase or reserve any of the artworks featured below, please contact us on (+356)99294188 or via email on: [email protected].
The artworks are available for viewing at Mixa’s Gallery in St Paul’s Bay by appointment. The Shift takes this opportunity to thank Michelle Gialanze for continuing to support investigative journalism.

Anna Anastasi
Embarking on her artistic journey about a decade ago with a humble beginner’s art set gifted to her for Christmas, Anna Anastasi (re)discovered a profound passion for the world of art. Acrylic paint quickly became her favoured medium, allowing her to weave vivid and bold colours into a slightly quirky style that emphasizes reflections. Anna’s artistic technique is a mirror of her eclectic personality, where she embraces imperfections as a form of beauty. Her paintings are a hotchpotch of ideas she gets from her travels, with most depicting the sea.

She discovered the freedom of combining her illustrative style of pen, ink and watercolour to works in acrylic and collage which show her preference for bright colours applied in layers with added collage and found objects to help create texture and depth.
