Il-Kenniesa pay tribute to Daphne Caruana Galizia and her work

People who will descend on Valletta for last minute Christmas shopping can see the work of murdered journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia on a screen erected opposite the law courts in the capital’s main street.

The initiative by Il-Kenniesa, a group of young activists who have held a number of protests and events since Caruana Galizia’s murder, comes as a third magistrate has been appointed to oversee the compilation of evidence against three men accused of assassinating the journalist, who was killed in a car bomb on 16 October.

“The people who have silenced her, are those who have a lot to lose. Two months on and they think that her work will slowly be forgotten, but we will make sure this does not happen,” il-Kenniesa said.

In a statement issued on Monday, the activists said “in the hustle and bustle of Christmas, we encourage everyone to spare some time to stop by, to appreciate her work and remember this great loss for our country and its future.”
