Citizens from around the world take a stand, #IAmDaphne

Citizens from around the world have voiced their support for the protection our journalists and freedom of expression, and for the fight against corruption with the statement “I am Daphne” in a video launched by Andrew Galea.

#IAmDaphne received contributions from Malta, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Serbia, Sweden, Poland, Greece, Canada, the US, Ireland, Scotland, England, Uganda, Vietnam and India.

As the government and its supporters attempt to bully, harass, intimidate and silence its critics, voices from around the world have united to tell them that the world is watching and you will never silence us,” Galea said.

“In Maltese society, Daphne made two mistakes: She was an outspoken strong woman, and she was a brilliant investigative journalist”.

The video is dedicated to “all journalists, women, and believers in freedom of speech and the fight against corruption. To Matthew Caruana Galizia, Andrew Caruana Galizia and Paul Caruana Galizia, we support you”.
