Protest speakers include PN MEP David Casa and PD MP Godfrey Farrugia

Activist Rachel Williams and lawyer Emma Portelli Bonnici will join Nationalist Party MEP David Casa and Partit Demokratiku MP Godfrey Farrugia to address those gathering for the ‘justice and truth’ protest on Sunday.

Casa and Farrugia were both elected on the PN ticket, while Portelli Bonnici is the secretary general of MZPN, the PN’s youth arm. Williams is an activist with #occupyjustice.

The protest in Valletta is being organised by NGOs #occupyjustice and Awturi to ask for political responsibility as well as serious and independent investigations into the revelations on corruption and money laundering.

#Occupyjustice and Awturi said they were “gravely concerned” about recent developments brought about by the Daphne Project as they encouraged civil society to attend the protest.

“We are inviting everyone, including institutions in the Maltese community – political parties, churches, unions and employers, societies and other organisations – to attend this gathering in a sincere demand for justice and truth,” the NGOs said in a statement.

The protest starts at 4pm at Castille Square, Valletta.
