The Shift News Tirana 10K Campaign

Alice Taylor is running the Tirana 10K to support The Shift.

Alice Taylor, a journalist and regular contributor to this site, is running the Tirana 10K (part of the Tirana Marathon) to raise money for The Shift News.

Alice ran the 10K for the first time last year, having never previously done a long-distance run.

“I was the kid in the class that faked asthma to get out of running at school,” she confessed, “but after completing the race last year, I was amazed at what I could do.”

She just gave birth to a daughter in June, but she got the all-clear from her doctor and is ready to lace up her shoes again and sweat for a good cause.

“I’m hoping people will sponsor me for what is sure to be a very challenging run,” she said. “The more donations we get, the less chance I have of being able to change my mind and stay in bed on race day!”

The Tirana 10K happens on the 13th of October in Tirana, Albania. Over 2,500 runners from 40 different countries are expected to participate.

You can follow Alice’s pre-race training here on her blog.
